Patrizia’s Background
At the movie’s beginning, Patrizia works as an office administrator for her father’s trucking company. Maurizio’s dad Rodolfo (Jeremy Irons). He thinks this marriage is terrible because of Patrizia’s family connections.
He doesn’t believe her family would be viewed as upstanding and thinks they might somehow be involved in the Mafia. Do you know that Patrizia’s original name was not Reggiani but Martinelli in real life?
Patrizia spent her very first 12 years of life in a poor suburb in Milan. Raised by her single mother, who was a dishwasher.
She then got married and changed her name to Patrizia Reggiani. They later married the wealthy entrepreneur Ferdinando Reggiani (he decided to keep his last name). Reggiani indeed lacked the glamour of others. But he was more affluent than the movie let’s on.
Lady Gucci’s documentary recounts the childhood experience of poverty that spurred Patrizia never to want to be poor again. He started a trucking company. But there’s no reason to believe he was ever in cahoots with organized crime. Barring what an employee in that industry might have been.
It seemed like her entire life was different from mine and our school friends. She was part of Milan’s upper class while we grew up in the 60s. We were all girls, and I thought we could live in love alone.
We weren’t accustomed to luxury. For Patrizia, it was essential to find someone who had a well-established and reputable company with deep pockets. According to Patrizia, that’s not accurate, but the story is more complicated.
Aftermath
After being convicted of masterminding the hit on her ex-husband back in 1997. she was offered an early release in 2011. But she turned it down because a condition of her parole was that she had to find employment. She told her lawyer, “I’ve never worked, and I don’t intend to start now.”
We learned that Italian newspapers reported that Ferdinando Reggiani’s son Vincenzo told police in 1973 that he thought Patrizia and her mother had conspired to kill his father because It has been alleged that Patrizia may have before committed a similar act.
One character claims: “this was not the first time Patrizia has committed murder.” A formal investigation wasn’t done into Ferdinando’s death but led to nobody being charged. you can also read Drama Between Jake Paul vs Ben Askren.
Did the Family boycott Maurizio’s Wedding?
At the time of their 1972 wedding, the film shows one side of the aisle packed with well-wishers. And the other was empty except for one couple.
There are a lot of well-wishers standing by. While the other side is practically empty, except for one couple.
Maurizio appeared to have several guests on his side. But none of them was from his family. Even Rodolfo tried to stop the wedding by asking a priest in Milan for help.
After the birth of his granddaughter Alessandra in 1976, he eventually reconciled with his son to give him and his wife an elegant penthouse. This happened when Maurizio went to New York to join Aldo in the family business.

In the film House Of Gucci, Guccio Gucci, the founder of the family’s fortunes, had two sons, Aldo (Al Pacino) and Rodolfo (Irons). Aldo has one son called Paolo (Jared Leto), and Rodolfo has only one son, Maurizio.
Indeed, in the interest of streamlining the story (or having failed to get consent to depict some family members), several people in the family have been eliminated in the movie. Guccio had a third son, Vasco, so initially, the business was divided into thirds. read more about Will Dream face finally be revealed after new teasers?
Turn of Table
When Vasco died in 1974, his shares were split, and the company was run jointly by Aldo and Rodolfo. After Guccio’s death, Aldo ran the company with Rodolfo. And Vasco doing the design and production work. The infamous Aldo, a noted actor in Italy, had two other brothers. Roberto, and Giorgio, were not mentioned in the movie.
House Of Gucci depicts Aldo’s leadership being overturned by Paolo and Maurizio. This was an ongoing plan. Rodolfo passed on his 50% share of the company to his son Aldo. Once this happened, Aldo had 40% of the claims, with his sons holding 3.3%.
In 1984 Maurizio and Paolo agreed. Maurizio would purchase Paolo’s stake in the company for $22million. So he could start his designer line. Maurizio obtained majority control, and in 1985 the company sued Aldo, accusing him of siphoning off millions of dollars. (Maurizio would be ousted as chairman for the same reason.)
Not only do we see Alessandra in the film. But there is a second daughter called Allegra who isn’t seen.
Was the Signature on the Share Certificate Forged?
In the film, Domenico De Sole (Jack Huston) tells Maurizio. There’s a problem with Rodolfo’s will. He forgot to sign the share certificate giving his son 50% of the company.
When Italy’s financial police raid the house to investigate forgery charges on his helicopter. Maurizio escapes out the back door and heads for his chalet in St. Moritz, Switzerland. The police asked him about the document. Patrizia first accuses Paolo and De Sole of forging the signature. This will lead to a high level of inheritance tax, says De Sole.
The movie implies it happened another way. In reality, Aldo and his brother Roberto accused Maurizio, who had taken over as chairman from Rodolfo after he was ousted, of forging their father’s signature on a share certificate. According to the Los Angeles Times, Patrizia testified that she committed the forgery and not Rodolfo.
Did Maurizio Help Launch Tom Ford?
The film documents how Maurizio brought on Texan designer Tom Ford to take over for him after he was diagnosed with AIDS. He’s in the front row applauding as Ford’s first collection receives a well-received response from the audience.
According to Ford, that wasn’t right. “Maurizio had been bought out of the company by the time I assumed. The position of creative director of Gucci and had my first hit collection,” the celebrated designer wrote for Air Mail last week. He never toasted me after that show as he does in the film.”
The Final Verdict:
House of Gucci is generally very accurate. Like any movie that reflects actual events, the conversations seen in the film are open to interpretation. This means that many of the interactions in the film are likely not based on reality.
Ridley Scott pays attention to historical detail, and you can see it in the film. He depicts the most significant fashion elements of the time.
Gucci’s family members have spoken out against the movie. This could be because they don’t like bringing up a time in their history that they want to forget. House of Gucci’s ending highlights that.
